On the occasion of Founder's Day and the birth anniversary of Sitaram Seksaria, a ceremony was held at Bhartiya Bhasha Parishad to honor Dr. Kusum Khemani, a renowned litterateur and cultural worker. The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Dr. Surya Prasad Dixit, former professor of Lucknow University, and Dr. Sandeep Awasthi, a storyteller and educationist.
During the ceremony, Dr. Awasthi spoke about the literary contributions of Kusum ji and mentioned that many universities are conducting research on her work. Professor Shambhunath, the Council Director, also shared his views and stated that a person's creative work can live on for a thousand years.
Dr. Surya Prasad Dixit praised Kusum ji for her efforts in highlighting the real situations of infamous streets through her work, "Amrit Katha of Lal Batti." The ceremony also included the release of the book "Kusum Khemani Ek Garimaya Paritya."
The president of the organization, Dr. Kusum Khemani, expressed her gratitude and mentioned that she had been contributing to the Council for nearly four decades. The renowned singer Padma Shri Prahlad Singh Tipania and his colleagues presented Kabir's verses in folk tunes, which greatly impressed the guests.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Rajshree Shukla, Head of the Department of Hindi at the University of Calcutta, and saw the presence of several literary figures, including journalist Abhigyat, writer Siraj Khan Batish, Ishwari Prasad Tantia, Aftab Ahmed Khan, Ram Niwas Dwivedi, Sanjay Jaiswal, and other public activists. The gathering enjoyed the environment of Kabir and praised the efforts of the organizers in promoting literary works and cultural events.
